When Sophie initially contacted me about having a photo session with their pony, Tinkerbell, she was a little worried that Tinkerbell might be too young as she is only 2 years old. I assured her that my sessions were very much pony led and we would take it at Tinkerbell’s pace so even if we had to give her lots of breaks it wouldn’t be a problem at all. However, as it turned out Tinkerbell was a little star and was so laid back throughout the whole session, neither of us need have worried I began the session by taking a few portraits of Tinkerbell and then Sophie’s daughters Lexi and Leila joined in the photos. I couldn’t believe how grown up both the girls are getting. I used to teach them horse riding many years ago at Carrington Riding Centre before they got their own pony but haven’t seen them in a while. Sophie mentioned I took the girls first ever horsey photo when there were at a show held at CRC. I also have to give thanks to Sophie’s Husband, David, who did a fantastic job during the session handling Tink, which meant that the girls could pose safely next to her. Many of the photos have been edited during post processing to remove David or the lead rein and some times even the headcollar but at no point during the session was Tinkerbell loose in order to keep everyone as safe as possible. We actually persuaded David to have a sneaky photo with Tinkerbell at the end, much to the girl’s delight. |
